voldemort (or you-know-who if your that much of a harry potter fanatic)

this morning i was innocently explaining to quite uneducated little kids on my bus with my retelling of the third book of harry potter because they just didn't get the movie. when trying to explainw hat voldemort wanted to do i suddenly realised that rowling isn't all that original. voldemort's aim was to get a pure race of witches and he tried to achieve this by eliminating half-bloods or muggle-born (i.e. those which did nto fit in his category) to get his superior race. snd he did all this despite being a half-blood himself (stupid hypocrite).
sound like someone we know and love in history?
