Cheng Ho

Okay there are so many celebrations here in semarang for some Chinese admiral called Cheng Ho. Aparrantly he arrived in this town like 600 years ago but I mean who cares? He went to Africa and America as well but they don’t celebrate the century anniversary of his arrival. What I also don’t get is why the Buddhists are celebrating his arrival when he came to Indonesia to spread the Islamic religion. My uncle says it’s a fact that he’s the greatest admiral in history, but then again he also knows that the forbidden city consumed 270 000 eggs, 30 000 chickens and 4000 pigs in one day. Who remembers things like that? I mean he’s a SCIENTIST. He thinks me not knowing facts like that means I’m an idiot… it’s tough living with a genius.
